About the Program

This 14-week civic education program brings together local government leaders and community members to effect positive, sustainable change.

Participants receive mentorship, advocacy training, and network-building opportunities to create more empathetic leaders.

Our Why

When government ecosystems are hard to access, it can lead to lower trust, lower voter turnout, and ultimately impacts to the quality of life for everyone in our growing communities.

Civic Impact Academy is the only civic training program that combines government leaders and community members in the same cohorts. Together they learn from one another and collaborate to effectively advocate for community change.

Our Goals

Learning Objectives

  • Improve civic knowledge & engagement of everyday residents and leaders.

  • Enhance social impact leadership skills for public sector professionals

  • Build the social capital of both groups to effect positive, sustained change in their communities.

Community Design Challenge

All participants complete the Community Design Challenge, an actionable project plan for improving the community in a focus area of their choice, structured to attract potential funding and support. This capstone project is presented at our final session and serves as a launching point for future civic action outside the cohort.
