Civic Impact Academy Spring Information Sessions 2026
Charlotte’s Civic Impact Academy Returns to Increase Civic Engagement and Solve Community Challenges In 2026
The Civic Impact Academy returns for its third year to bridge divides between residents and local government. Civic Impact Academy is a 14-week civic eduction program featuring hybrid learning, in-person meet-ups, and capstone projects designed to generate civic solutions to real-world community issues.
An in-person April 30th Information Session will provide opportunities for press and prospective applicants to learn more.
In its third year, the Civic Impact Academy focuses on actionable, community-led problem solving and bridge-building between community members and local government.
"The Academy is about more than just understanding how local government works," says founder Christine Edwards Pitkin. "It’s rooted in history, equity, and principles of community organizing. This Academy cultivates knowledge among everyday residents and public sector professionals, building the social capital both groups need to create positive, sustainable change."
The public is invited to attend any of the Spring Information Sessions to be hosted over the next few months, starting with an in-person event on April 30th. These events will feature conversations with founder Christine Pitkin, Civic Impact Acadamy Program Manager Dari Crawford, and alumni who have successfully launched community projects through the Academy.
